On Labor Day, 1947, Myles and Florence Whitlock opened the doors to Whitlock’s Furniture.  They were located just across from the Hayne railroad yard and the County Fairgrounds.  This was out of the “city” and away from the high rent costs.  Their slogan was: “A little out of the way, means the less you pay”, and is still used today.

Their philosophy was to carry the best quality furniture at the most affordable prices – and to assure the customer with honesty, integrity and service after the sale.
